Central School of Practical Nursing provides a quality education for practical nurses, including classroom and clinical instruction in both long-term and acute care settings in the following areas:

  • medical-surgical nursing
  • pediatrics
  • geriatrics
  • obstetrics
  • rehabilitation
  • home care
  • medication administration, including IV therapy
Additionally, depending on their clinical assignments, students may also have observational experience in the following areas:
  • wound care center
  • respiratory therapy
  • dialysis
  • outpatient clinics
  • childbirth/breastfeeding/new moms class, etc.
  • child day care
  • adult day care

Finally, students also gain experience in wellness education, community resources & involvement, and team-leading in the clinical area.

As the oldest practical nurse education in the state of Ohio and as one of the first programs of its kind in the nation, CSPN enjoys a strong reputation in the community. CSPN holds its students to the highest standards of learning, clinical excellence, and professionalism.

CSPN is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

We are also proud to be ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) accredited, receiving the maximum accreditation period of 8 years, and being citation- and recommendation-free.
